elp

By morganphillips

Te letter between “g” and “i” in te alpabet as died on te keyboard of my iBook.  I’ve been reduced to copying and pasting it from oter sources every time I want to use common words like “te” or “tis” or to write my last name (Pillips).

I’ve ad tis laptop for tree years now, and oter tan te battery slowly dying (a problem I’ve cosen to ignore, since I rarely use it away from ome anyway), it as been 100% problem-free.  Even if I could afford anoter computer rigt now (wic I can’t), it would be ard to justify ditcing it just because of tis one little problem.

I even tried taking te keyboard apart and cleaning it.  No dice.  Te key is really and truly dead.

I’m not going to boter going back and pasting te missing letters into tis post.  It almost reads like I’m writing wit a strange accent, wic I tink is kind of cool.  Rigt?

Anybody ave a dead iBook tat I migt be able to salvage from?  Or any miracle cures to suggest?

Tanks in advance for your elp!

LOL! it sounds cute. But its a problem alright. What u can do is get a keyboard, either wireless or USB wired and plug into ur laptop and use it. Its not that costly and u get it in the electronic market. I know my suggestion sounds kinda bland but i think thats one way of solving your problem. Thing is, its much better than getting a totally new laptop. Plus installation is amazingly simple. Hope this is of help to you.

While I’ve never had an iBook, I had the same issue with the letter “i” on my Dell laptop about six years ago. Totally sucked, and then I had to have someone come in and fix it (warranty, yay!). But while fixing it they broke the fan, causing my computer to CATCH ON FIRE the next time I left it on for over two hours. So there are worse things, I guess…

    good luck with that.

Start typing an ‘8′ where you want an ‘h’ and tell your friends to get used to reading 8’s as h’s. You’ll save money on repairs, and find out who your true friends are.

    You sound French Canadian.

I have an extra external keyboard that I’d be happy to send you! Not a perfect fix but good for temporary relief.
